Loft Tropical, designed by Gisele Taranto Arquitetura, is a masterpiece that combines art, design, and sustainability. The goal was to create a space that not only showcases Deca products but also provides a sensory experience for visitors. The designers achieved this by incorporating various elements throughout the loft, such as holes in the drywall inspired by Duchamp's work, Etant donnes, which allow the public to observe the products from different perspectives.
But the sensory experience doesn't stop there. Loft Tropical is filled with smells, sounds, and textures that engage visitors on a deeper level. The long reflecting pool, lined with a green wall, not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also helps lower the ambient temperature and promote environmental comfort. The iron structure is covered with a mesh of opaque and translucent tiles, allowing the use of natural light and embracing sustainable materials and environmentally friendly concepts.
The interior of Loft Tropical seamlessly integrates with the facade, creating a harmonious flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces. A large glass plan provides breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery, while a portico frames the entrance, welcoming visitors into this sensory showroom. The entire floor and walls are adorned with Tecno-Cement, and the joinery is made in gray lacquer, adding to the sleek and modern design.
One of the standout features of Loft Tropical is the green wall covered with bracken, a plant that thrives in partially shaded indoor environments. The American Fern species chosen for the green wall has bulky foliage, creating a unified and visually striking display. To maintain the green wall, irrigation was done once a day, keeping the planting mixture moist but never soaked. The water mirror positioned in front of the green wall adds humidity to the environment, making it more welcoming for the plant species.
Loft Tropical was exhibited in Casa Cor Rio 2014, the largest and most important event of architecture and decoration in Brazil. The project started in August 2014 and was completed in October 2014, showcasing the dedication and creativity of the design team led by Gisele Taranto. The loft not only impressed visitors but also received recognition in the form of the Bronze A' Design Award in 2016, highlighting its outstanding design and contribution to quality of life improvements.
Loft Tropical is a true testament to the power of design to create immersive and sensory experiences. Gisele Taranto Arquitetura has successfully transformed a showroom into a work of art, where visitors can feel at home while admiring Deca products. This unique blend of art, design, and sustainability sets Loft Tropical apart from other showrooms and establishes it as a true sensory masterpiece.
